Fruit Sushi Rice Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg Medium Grain Rice
  • 2 packets of Sushi Wrap
  • 250 ml Sushi Vinegar
  • 250 ml Rice Vinegar
  • 2 packets of Wasabi Paste (43g each)
  • 1 Whole Pawpaw
  • 1 Whole Pineapple
  • 3 Cucumbers
  • 1/2 Watermelon
  • 1 bundle Fresh Thyme

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Rice:

  • Rinse 1 kg of medium-grain rice thoroughly.
  • Cook the rice according to the package instructions.
  • Once cooked, transfer the rice to a large bowl.

2. Season the Rice:

  • In a small bowl, mix 250 ml of sushi vinegar and 250 ml of rice vinegar.
  • Gently fold the vinegar mixture into the cooked rice until well combined.

3. Prepare the Ingredients:

  • Peel and slice the pawpaw, pineapple, and cucumbers into thin strips.
  • Cut the watermelon into bite-sized cubes.
  • Pick fresh thyme leaves from the bundle.

4. Assemble the Fruit Sushi:

  • Place a sushi wrap on a clean surface.
  • Spread a layer of seasoned rice over the wrap, leaving a small border at the edges.
  • Arrange slices of pawpaw, pineapple, cucumbers, and watermelon on the rice.
  • Add a touch of fresh thyme leaves for flavour.

5. Roll the Sushi:

  • Carefully roll the sushi from one end to the other, ensuring it forms a tight roll.
  • Use a sharp knife to slice the roll into bite-sized pieces.

6. Serve and Enjoy:

  • Plate the fruit sushi attractively.
  • Serve with wasabi paste on the side for an extra kick.
